Florida Gators Rollover

Rollover Strategy – Implementation

Somewhere in this blog I introduced the notion of the Rollover Bet and tried to explain it using a hockey example.

We’re going to try this out with the Florida Gators football squad. I was super impressed how they handled their business against a strong Utah Utes squad and think there may be some sleeper value on the Gators winning games and covering spreads. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, they played that game in The Swamp, so Home Field Advantage was alive and well. The Gators still took care of business. They have a stud quarterback in Anthony Richardson and are well-coached by Billy Napier, even though this is his first year in Gainesville.

Plus, Florida football has the coolest tradition in the known Universe (fact check: True statement) with the playing of Tom Petty’s I Won’t Back Down prior to the start of the fourth quarter. Yeah, he has two Beatles playing with him, plus Jeff Lynne and Mike Campbell. Just fucking awesome.

Alright, so, here’s what we are doing…

Gators host the Kentucky Wildcats this Saturday and are about a 4.5-point favorite in this contest. But we are going to bet the moneyline (ML) in this contest. According to the ESBN supercomputers the ML we bet was -200. So, if we wanted to win $100, we would be required to bet $200 to do so. We then wait and see what happened to collect our initial bet and winnings, or lick our wounds if we lost, planning sweet revenge.

Next up our beloved Gators host South Florida Bulls. Gators will be a double-digit favorite in this game, so when we rollover our nest-egg on this contest, we’re going to get a big minus (-) number. We may have to lay all those points to squeeze more value out of this. We will not let that deter us from our mission. This is science and we are determined to make a profit.

So, after Gators take care of business against the Bulls, we look ahead to the next contest @ Tennessee Volunteers. Yikes! We may hit the wall here. However, we do not have to put our growing Rollover funds at risk. No sir, we can just sit this one out. Which is highly likely what we will do, waiting for the home contest against Eastern Washington. Or maybe we take the points? We will have to wait and see.

Again, big minus number on the ML against Eastern Washington, but we are not afraid, as we may bet the spread here too. Looking down the schedule we probably need to chicken out (again) when the Gators face their hated rival Georgia Bulldogs at the World’s Largest Cocktail Party, in Jacksonville.

That’s enough effort for now. We will catch up to this enterprise later. I gotta hit the showers.

Peace Out
