Bulldogs vs Wildcats

407 Mississippi State
408 Arizona

Buckle up ladies and gentlemen! Get the kids out of bed and call out sick for work. Hell, quit your job if you must! You never want to miss the Wipeout Game. I introduced this concept a few years ago. But before we get to the goods, I need to do a little bookkeeping. I mentioned Sports Insights in the old post. Currently I use the Free Odds page at Wagertalk.com. There are quite a few of these free services around the internet, but this is the one I use most often.

Alright, down to business! We have our beloved PAC-12 After Dark leading off the season of official Wipeout Games. This one sets up nicely, with the Mike Leach-coached 407 Mississippi State Bulldogs traveling to Tucson to take on the 408 Arizona Wildcats in the nightcap! This game does not meet all of the parameters of the classic Wipeout Game, but close enough and we can’t always get what we want.

As I write this, Bulldogs are 10.5-point favorites, on the road, in The Desert. Of the spread bets that have been made, so far, 63% are on the Bulldogs, as is 51% of the money. More tickets on a side with less money on that same side typically means squares are betting that team, with sharps on the opposite side. The higher percentage breakdowns are the only thing missing from this.

What we do have is a late-night contest against two well-known squads that will garner huge betting interest. The Degenerate Get Back in the Black Special! We also have a spread of 10.5 points. And we know the nature of the wild-eyed gambler who “knows” Arizona sucks and “knows” an SEC team will handle its business. So, the gamblers have loaded up on the Bulldogs, bet the moneyline, layed the points and have included them in all of their teasers and parlays.

Also of note, the following week Mississippi State must travel to Baton Rouge for their annual matchup with LSU, so this is even a lookahead spot for the Bulldogs! Then Bulldogs host Bowling Green. Then Bulldogs host Texas A&M! This absolute stroke of genius of scheduling also makes Bowling Green the play in that contest, as this is the mother of all classic Sandwich Games. Can’t wait!

I have been a fan of The Pirate a long time. Yet every year there is a game where he just does not really bother to show up. Tonight’s the night! Betting strategy is to bet at least 1-unit on the Arizona spread and at least a half-unit on the Arizona ML, currently +320 at one of my books. I see this line going down prior to kickoff, so you probably want to get your action in early.

Wipeout!

Peace Out
